The annual ePharma Physician® report from Decision Resources Group found that U.S. physicians are increasingly too busy to see industry sales reps. The share of physicians seeing reps in-person dropped from 67 percent last year to 54 percent in this year’s survey of 1,285 practicing U.S. physicians. The report also found a jump in the number of physicians who said they had not communicated with a representative within the last six months, from 24 percent to 39 percent.
“Industry events are becoming increasingly more important as places where brands can get face time with physicians in the exhibit hall,” says Cathleen Gorby, senior account manager for exhibits, sponsorships and media for the International Stroke Conference. “ISC has more than 12 hours of exhibit time for these critical one-on-one conversations and meetings. And the last time ISC was in LA, 83% of attendees visited the Science & Technology Hall.”
